What do you suggest as a natural product to ease constipation?
Q. I have trouble with constipation (or Opstipation as one doctor told me) I take CKLS from my herbalist to help me go. I’d like to go naturally. What do you recommend?
A. For the constipation, I would recommend:
- PaleoFiber – 1-2 Tbsp a day mixed with water and a little juice (for added flavor). I would recommend starting with 2 tsp and building up gradually so your body can get use to the extra fiber, build up to 2 Tbsp (6 tsp). This is a gentle fiber supplement with added probiotics to help improve intestinal motility and health. Also, it is important to drink ample water to support the movement of fecal waste out of the body.
- Aloe 200x by DFH – take one to three capsules daily between meals. Studies have shown Aloe is able to rebalance the intestines by “regulating gastrointestinal pH while improving gastrointestinal motility, increasing stool specific gravity, and reducing populations of certain fecal microorganisms, including yeast.” Other studies have shown that Aloe Vera juice helps to detoxify the bowel, neutralize stomach acidity, and relieve constipation.
If the PaleoFiber isn’t completely doing the job, I would add the Aloe if you only want to try one thing at a time. The Aloe is great, but sometimes just the added fiber and probiotics can do the trick. The Aloe also has other health benefits, if you click on the link I provided, go to “More Info” to read more about it.
